As a golf
professional, your qualifications and know-how are needed as an SGF
Lead Staff Instructor or Assistant Staff Instructor. Through the
coaches you train, your influence will help aspiring young golfers
become great players and great citizens. |

| Coaching the Coaches |
|
As a Staff
Instructor, you will train individuals who have the desire and
commitment, but not necessarily the knowledge or skill to teach the
game. You will instruct coaches, PE teachers or counselors using
SGF's Golf Coach Education, Training and Certification Program,
while adding your professional experience.
Our mission is not to develop professional instructors, rather to
educate and equip coaches to better conduct and administer their
programs. The SGF Staff Instructor Program is the means to provide
the coach with professional teaching assistance. This is a great
opportunity for the professional to gain MRS credits and develop
future lesson income while also providing a worthwhile service to
the community.

SGF has developed a
three tier academic program of instruction designed to provide a
curriculum that is appropriate in scope and depth as well as
reasonable in terms of time required and cost to participants. The
program will include:

Continuing education
through clinics and workshops will be offered for professional
growth and will be required for periodic re-certification.
Professionals selected for Lead Staff Instructor positions will
receive home-study materials to familiarize them with the necessary
procedures and formats to conduct SGF workshops and in-service
training sessions. These workshops will be held regionally,
therefore permitting the instructor easy access and minimal time
away from their primary responsibilities. Should the instructor be
asked to attend a workshop at a distant site, expenses will be
provided.
Assistant Staff Instructors will also receive similar home-study
materials for continuity in the SGF training program |
