Walter Hagen  
   
Walter Hagen was born on Dec. 21, 1892 in Rochester, N.Y. he was nicknamed as Haig by his fans and brethren and was an inspiration to golfers during his time. Hagen claimed the U.S. Open title twice in the year 1914 as well as 1919 and the British Open for a total of four times in the year 1922, 1924, 1928 and 1929. Hagen had won the PGA championship for an astonishing number of 5 times in the year 1921, 1924, 1925, 1926, and 1927.
   

He was a remarkable golf player and was acknowledged by some as the best golf payer ever because of his 5 time victory of the PGA Championship. He was admitted in the World Golf Hall of fame in the year 1974 and was also the captain of the 6 United States Ryder Cup teams. He dreamt of leading a millionaires life and thus is remembered by all golfers of his time onwards as the man who turned the fate of professional golf and got the players justice. He won a total of 11 professional championships as well as countless minor ones and was famous for not only that but also the legitimization of the PGA tour. He was the one who earned pro golfers their admittance to golf clubs and thus Hagen is not only a superb golfer but perhaps the only revolutionary player in the sport. He had fans who adored him both personally and professionally and his reputation went across borders and seas.
