The most eminent names in the history of golfing belongs to the United States of America and started his career as a professional in the year 1962 and played for his country for 25 years with his exit from the game in the year 1986. The player has a total number of 5 PGA title and perhaps the most deserved and well played awards in the history of the game.
   

The years in which the player claimed the PGA title were 1963, 1971, 1973, 1975 and 1980 while he was the runner up for a total of four times in his career history. The runner up years is recorded to be 1964, 1965, 1974 and 1983. His legendary victory in the year 1980 was recorded as the largest margin of victory in the PGA professional golfing championship with a difference of seven strokes. The player has finished on top in major tournaments at least 12 times with a difference of seven or more strokes than the runner up in that match indicating the obvious edge and advantage that the player enjoyed over his opponents in the games he played through out his twenty five year career span.

He has a marvelous record in the game of golf and is acknowledged as the best player of PGA tournaments in the history of golf. He is called popularly as the golden player and is title is well earned and justified by his records. He is the member of world golf hall of fame.

As a golfer one has to have the brains of rock to withstand all disappointments and consider each day as a learning process with gradual improvement as that is true progress which can be sustained over a lifetime with more practice and effort.
